Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and is the holy month of fasting.

Millions across the globe will honour the religious tradition between April 12 and May 11, by abstaining from food and drink during daylight hours.

But this year will be different for many, as some traditions are still on hold due to social restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19.
