Need to spread awareness among people to follow COVID protocols: Om Birla
While addressing a meeting with presiding officers over COVID situation in the country, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on April 19 said, "To contain COVID-19 spread, we all need to work in tandem and on a war footing.
In these tough times, it's responsibility of all presiding officers and leaders to stand by people." "Through public representatives of our respective states, we need to spread awareness among people to follow all COVID protocols.
We need to send the message that observance of precautions is the biggest weapon in the fight against this pandemic," Birla added.
In a tragic accident during the Shivaratri procession in Kota, Rajasthan, around 14 children suffered electric burns after coming into contact with a bare electric wire. All the injured children were promptly taken to the hospital, where Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota MP, also visited to inquire about their condition. He assured necessary assistance and instructed doctors to provide proper treatment, mentioning Jaipur as a referral option if needed.
