Severe cyclonic storm Tauktae intensified overnight into 'very severe cyclonic storm' over eastcentral Arabian Sea according to the weather department. 100 rescue teams are deployed for six states - Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. India Meteorological Department said that Tauktae is very likely to intensify further during the next 12 hours.

AIIMs director Randeep Guleria has noted that mild covid cases in patients are turning into severe pneumonia because of strong medicaton and repeated tests. Guleria, who is a member of the National Task Force on Covid-19, said patients with mild symptoms who had consumed steroids were triggering a virus replication in their bodies, causing a drop in oxygen levels.

Guleria at a press conference said that CT scans and biomarkers are being misused and they can be harmful as well. "One CT scan is equivalent to 300 to 400 chest x-rays. According to data, repeated CT scans in younger age groups increase the risk of cancer in later life. Exposing yourself to radiation again and again may cause damage.
