A large herd of reindeer were caught on video hurtling across a car park at speeds of 20mph - and were described as looking like 'they were about to take off'.Clare Edwards, 37, was at the Coire Na Ciste car park at the Cairngorms - a mountain range in the eastern highlands of Scotland - on Monday the 11th April when she heard a handler shout on what she thought was a dog - but it was actually a herd of 50 reindeer.Clare, who is from Keith, a town in Moray, was planning on going up the Cairngorms that morning at 11 am but changed her mind after being out in the poor weather. As she was in her car preparing to go home, she heard a handler shout on what she thought was a dog - but when she looked up she saw a herd of reindeer sprinting across the car park 25 metres in front of her.Clare got out of her car and filmed the amazing moment, with the deers running across the 50 metre car park with the stunning Cairngorms as the backdrop. Clare said it was a magical moment, and at one point it looked like the reindeer were about to take flight over the mountain. The herd was with two handlers, and Clare thinks the reindeer were being taken to the nearby Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd is Britain's only free-ranging herd of reindeer found in the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland and has about 150 reindeer in its herd.Reindeer are powerful endurance runners and can reach sprint speeds of almost 50 miles per hour. Clare, who is an off-shore chemist, said: "I was there myself and I was planning on going up the Cairngorms but decided to save it for another day due to the poor weather."I pulled up in the car park to look at my emails, when I heard a large shout of stop, from a handler.

At first, I thought it was just an owner shouting on a dog."Instead what I saw was a herd of must of been 50 reindeer sprinting across the car park. "They must have been going at about 20 miles per hour."They ran across the car park to the bottom of the hill, where they started brazing. "The handlers then led them up the hill, to what I assume was the nearby Reindeer Herd Centre."I don't know what caused them to run."When they started to run they looked like they were about to take flight."I've never seen anything like this, I was just in awe of them."I always think of them as quite magical creatures with their movements, so it was amazing to see."
