Foreign secretary Lord Cameron said he is "confident" the Rwanda bill will be passed by parliament this week. The legislation which is set to be passed declares Rwanda a safe country - after the Supreme Court blocked an earlier plan in November.

The Bank of England has voted to keep interest rates unchanged, but showed what was perhaps the clearest sign in years that cuts could come in the months ahead.
