On May 13, Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared on CNN’s ‘The Lead with Jake Tapper’ to say that schools should reopen “full blast” in the fall.

.

I believe the schools should be open five days, full blast, just the way it was before … We really have to do that by the time we get to the fall, Dr. Anthony Fauci, on 'The Lead with Jake Tapper'.

His comments were made in agreement with Randi Weingarten, president of America’s second- largest teachers union, the American Federation of Teachers.

.

Weingarten made her declaration earlier that day, saying “conditions have changed” in favor of in-person teaching.

.

Conditions have changed.

We can and we must reopen schools in the fall for in-person teaching, learning and support.

And we must keep them open fully and safely five days a week, Randi Weingarten, via Fox News.

She went on to say that “nothing should stand in the way” of fully reopening schools now that vaccinations are available and other mitigation measures can be taken.

.

According to Weingarten, 89 percent of her union’s 1.7 million members are either fully vaccinated or want to be.

.

Creating safe conditions in schools during a public health crisis is not an obstacle to reopening to classrooms -- it's the pathway to going back, staying back and creating trust through the school community.
