Delta Plus: Variant of concern, 22 cases found in 3 States and more than 40 in India| Oneindia News
The Delta plus variant, a new mutant version of the Delta strain first detected in India, has been found in 22 cases in Maharashtra, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh and is a variant of concern, the government said in a warning to these states on Tuesday evening.
Two Telangana students, Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Kumar Parsi, aged 19, tragically perished in a road accident in Arizona, USA. Both studying computer science engineering at Arizona State University, they were returning home when their vehicle collided head-on with another car. The families urge Indian government assistance to repatriate their bodies. The incident underscores safety concerns for Indian students abroad.

Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
