Local authorities in Ukraine reported that in a an air strike on Yavoriv military range in Lviv, near the Polish border, at least 35 people were killed and 134 injured.
The strike was launched by Russia on the International Centre for Peacekeeping and Security.
Russia and Ukraine have been at war for 18 days now.
A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck off the west coast of Shikoku island in Japan, reaching a weak 6 intensity. Occurring at 11:14 p.m., it caused no tsunami threat or initial injuries or damage.
