UK to send 8,000 troops to eastern Europe for NATO exercises
The UK will send 8,000 British Army troops to take part in NATO exercises across eastern Europe, in the biggest European deployment since the Cold War.
International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan said Putin's war in Ukraine had made NATO members in the region "very anxious", adding: "This exercise will be a chance for all our military to work together to make sure that they are at readiness." Report by Buseld.

the alliance after Hungary’s parliament approved the motion, Politico reports.
The historic move for Sweden comes after the country’s neutrality lasted through two world wars and the Cold War. .
Sweden is the 32nd member to join the military alliance. .
Hungary was the last NATO member to hold out on Sweden’s membership but held a parliamentary vote to approve it. .
188 lawmakers in the Hungarian parliament supported Sweden’s NATO membership,
6 against and no abstentions.
