On June 1, the six-week defamation trial Depp brought against his ex-wife came to an end.

Depp will be awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

Heard will be awarded $2 million in compensatory damages but no punitive damages.

Depp sued Heard for $50 million because of a 2018 essay she wrote for 'The Washington Post' in which she said she had survived domestic abuse, alluding to Depp.

The verdict was first scheduled to be revealed at 3 p.m.

ET, but Judge Penney Azcarate called attorneys to the bench because the section of the form about damages was left blank.

The jurors were sent back to the deliberation room to properly fill out the form.

The jury, consisting of seven people, began deliberating on May 27.

Depp was not in attendance due to prior commitments.

He performed with Jeff Beck in Sheffield on May 29.

Depp watched the verdict reading while still in the U.K
