Who is Mark Zuckerberg?

Mark Zuckerberg is one of the wealthiest CEO’s in the world and is regarded as having one of the most brilliant minds of his generation.

He is the founder, chairman and CEO of Meta, which until 2021, was called Facebook.

Zuckerberg was born in May 1984 in New York, USA.

His parents worked as a dentist and psychiatrist respectively and he has three siblings.

At the age of 19, he and his friends launched the social media giant from their dorm room whilst they were studying at Harvard.

The aim was for students to match names with photos of classmates.

Such was the success of Facebook, there was a film made about its origin in 2010.

Two years later, it became the world’s largest social network, with a billion active users.

Despite the platform’s success, in more recent years, Facebook has been the subject of numerous scandals, particularly concerning the way it handles user’s data.

In 2010, Time magazine named Zuckerberg ‘Person of the Year.’ In his free time, the CEO has spent his time studying Chinese.

In fact, by the end of 2014, his Mandarin was that good that he managed to hold a 30-minute Q&A in the language.
