On September 1st, President Biden stood on a stage at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall and delivered what is now known as his “red wall” speech.

Flanked by two U.S. marines, with the backdrop bathed in ominous deep blood red light, it was reminiscent of a horror show more than an address to a heavily divided nation from the seat of American freedom and independence.
