Finland's PM Sanna Marin signals growing cross-party support for Russia border fence
The proposal for border fencing along part of Finland's 1,340-kilometre border with Russia has gained traction since Putin's invasion of Ukraine, amid concern over cross-border migration.
The Finnish government declared Wednesday a nationwide day of mourning, ordering state agencies and institutions to lower the national flag to half-mast.

Finnish police have reported multiple injuries resulting from a shooting incident at a primary school in Vantaa, a suburb of Helsinki. The authorities swiftly responded to the situation at Viertola school shortly after 9am local time on Tuesday.

Russia launched a drone attack on Ukraine that injured seven people in the Black Sea port of Odesa, two of them children, and also targeted Kyiv, the capital, Ukraine's military officials said early on Tuesday. Several residential buildings in the city were damaged and caught fire, the governor of the Odesa region, Oleh Kiper, said on the Telegram messaging app. At least 14 apartments were damaged, the city administration added.
