Suella Braverman has faced criticism from refugee charities after claiming in the Commons on Monday that there is an “invasion” of England by migrants crossing the Channel.
The home secretary is under pressure over her handling of the overcrowding at Manston asylum centre, and her breaching of security rules under former prime minister Liz Truss.
A reporter asked Ms Braverman if she was going to step down as she left her home on Tuesday morning.
