Studies (CSIS), war games suggest that Chinese
forces would be unable to occupy Taipei. .
CSIS's report suggests that the 110-mile wide Taiwan Strait, which separates China from Taiwan, would be the
site of a deadly air and maritime battle.
The series of war games was modeled
after the most likely scenario
for a Chinese attack on Taiwan. .

Germany Sees Number , of Refugees, Continue to Increase.
ABC News reports that over 244,000 people applied
for asylum in Germany in 2022 in addition
to over one million Ukrainian refugees. .
Most of the asylum-seekers came from
Syria, Afghanistan, Turkey and Iraq. .

immediately offered temporary residency status.
The number of people seeking
asylum in Germany increased
by 27.9% when compared to 2021.
