Labour pledge to put 13,000 more police back on streets
The Labour Party has pledged to put 13,000 more neighbourhood police officers and PCSOs "back on Britain's streets".
In a speech delivered by Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper on law and order, the Labour MP goes on to say how the party plans on paying for these extra officers.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has refused to comment on whether the party has provided funding for tax or legal advice for his deputy Angela Raynerâs tax affairs. Mr Starmer said, âI have said I am absolutely pleased to be out with Angela today, and that is the focus that she has, that is the focus that I have had.â

Police should investigate allegations an MP misused campaign funds, Labour has said. Mark Menzies lost the Conservative whip after claims emerged that he had used political donations to cover medical expenses. Menzies disputes the allegations. The government has made a U-turn following a campaign to make assaulting a shop worker a separate criminal offence. Rishi Sunak announced on Wednesday that his government would be amending its Criminal Justice Bill to bring in the new offence.
