Humza Yousaf has announced his resignation as Scotland's first minister ahead of forthcoming confidence votes. Mr Yousaf had been battling for his political survival after terminating the power-sharing deal between the SNP and Scottish Greens on Thursday. Former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell has been charged by police as part of a probe into the party's finances. The husband of Scotland’s former first minister Nicola Sturgeon was charged on Thursday in connection with the alleged embezzlement of funds.
