Monsoon session begins July 20, Delhi services ordinance in focus
Saturday, 1 July 2023 The monsoon session of Parliament, in which the Delhi Services Ordinance may be brought in as a legislation, will begin on July 20, parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi said on Saturday. Though a short session spread over 17 sittings until August 11, it is likely to be politically significant in view of the opposition's plan to take on the government.
After torpedoing a relationship with the Greens and alienating his party, Scotland's first minister Humza Yousaf was due to face a vote of no-confidence later this week – but instead pre-emptively quit Parliament. Someone else at the "helm" would be a better fit as first minister, he said.
