No proposal to repeal anti-cow slaughter law: Karnataka minister

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 5 July 2023
Introduced by the BJP government in 2020, the act makes it illegal to buy, sell, transport, slaughter or trade all cattle, except buffaloes over 13 years old. The law sets out stiff punishments for violators. "We are still studying and discussing the pros and cons of repealing the law," animal husbandry minister K Venkatesh said in a written reply to a question from BJP member N Ravikumar during question hour in the legislative council on Wednesday.
