No statutory vacuum, robust mechanism in place for regulating media channels: Centre to SC

The government emphasized its commitment to protecting journalistic freedom and promoting self-restraint and self-regulation in journalism. It argued that there is a robust mechanism in place for regulating the content of private television channels under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act.
