J&K ANTF arrests man with 3.5 kg heroin from Srinagar
Thursday, 21 September 2023 The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested Zaheed Ahmad Khoja, a Kashmir-based man, with 3.5 kg of heroin worth crores in Srinagar district. The operation, led by DySP Nissar Bakshi, resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of contraband. In 2023, ANTF has registered 15 FIRs related to drug seizures, prompting an appeal from SSP Raj Kumar Sharma for the public to stay away from drugs and report information on smugglers and peddlers to ANTF for legal action.
Continuous heavy rainfall has battered numerous areas of Jammu and Kashmir, compelling the Union territory administration to take precautionary measures by closing schools across the Kashmir valley and Reasi district, as reported by officials. The persistent downpour in recent days has inflicted severe damage in various regions. Flash floods and landslides, triggered by the torrential rain, have affected parts of Poonch and northern Kashmir, resulting in damage to both public infrastructure and private property.
