SC refuses to interfere with order asking Karnataka to share Cauvery water with Tamil Nadu
The Supreme Court declined to intervene in the Cauvery water dispute, upholding the Cauvery Water Management Authority's (CWMA) directive for Karnataka to release 5,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu's request to increase the water allocation to 7,200 cusecs was rejected. The court had previously asked CWMA to assess whether water sharing was in compliance with its orders.
