Saturday, 21 October 2023 SP President Akhilesh Yadav has called on the Congress to clarify if they want an alliance or not, amid tensions over seat-sharing arrangements for the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls. Yadav hinted that the Congress leadership had approached him on the issue, but questioned why they called if they didn't want an alliance. He urged the Congress to be transparent and not conspire against the SP. The INDIA bloc, which includes the SP and Congress, was formed to challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
