Rs 22,000 crore subsidy bill for rabi crop gets nod

The Union cabinet has approved a subsidy of Rs 22,303 crore for nutrient-based phosphatic and potassic fertilisers for the upcoming Rabi season. This subsidy is significantly lower than previous seasons due to the cooling global prices. The government aims to prevent any burden on farmers by providing subsidies and ensuring stable prices for fertilisers. The subsidy amount may change depending on international prices, but so far, 54% of the allocated subsidy for this year has been utilized.
