Congress will scrap welfare schemes if voted to power: Telangana CM KCR
Friday, 27 October 2023 BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday claimed that Congress will abolish welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu and free power to farmers, if voted to power in the November 30 assembly polls, and said progress of the state will continue if his party was given another term. Speaking at different rallies, Chief Minister Rao, also known as KCR, asked people to compare the 10 years of BRS rule with that of 50 years of the Congress regime in terms of development.
On Wednesday, the Election Commission took action against former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours, effective from 8 pm today. This decision was made due to "derogatory and objectionable statements" made by Rao against the Congress party. The EC's action followed a complaint filed by Congress leader G Niranjan, prompting the commission to issue a notice to K Chandrashekar Rao. The EC noted that Rao had previously received several advisories and instructions regarding his speeches.
