Rashmi Ranjan Swain appointed in-charge DGP of J&K
Rashmi Ranjan Swain has been appointed as the in-charge Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, replacing the longest-serving DGP Dilbag Singh. Swain, who is currently the special DG CID, will take over the role from November 1 while continuing his existing duties. He has previously served as the police chief of Jammu and Srinagar cities and has worked extensively in Jammu and Kashmir on central deputation. Swain has been instrumental in breaking the separatist ecosystem and disrupting links between Pakistan and non-political platforms.
