Ex-Puducherry Speaker P Kannan dies at 74, government declares 3-day state mourning
Former Assembly Speaker P Kannan of Puducherry passed away after a prolonged illness. The Puducherry government has declared a 3-day state mourning from November 6 to 8, during which the national flag will fly at half-mast. Kannan, who was 74, had served in various political capacities and was known for his contributions to the welfare of the people. Leaders from different political parties, including CM Rangasamy and Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin, expressed grief over his demise.
