A horse named Voice of Reason, belonging to Kolkata Mounted Police, died of a heart attack after being spooked by fireworks during a celebration following an India-South Africa World Cup match. The horse panicked and charged towards the parking lot, damaging several vehicles before being reined in by police and fans. Despite efforts to revive him, the horse collapsed and passed away. The fireworks were handled by an agency appointed by the cricket body, who had received permission to use the area outside the stadium due to the presence of VIPs.
