Unseasonal rains caused by the western disturbance lashed Gujarat, resulting in flight diversions and lightning deaths. The heavy showers, accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms, caused widespread destruction of crops. The State Emergency Operations Centre recorded 20 deaths, primarily caused by lightning, in various districts of the state. The hailstorms also affected city and highway traffic across Gujarat. The assessment of the damage will take place once the rains subside.
