Man held for a day for touching woman's bottom

IndiaTimes Saturday, 9 December 2023
A 45-year-old man, Raju Chavan, was sentenced by a Magistrate's Court for repeatedly touching a woman's bottom on a Churchgate-bound local train in Mumbai. The court held that the offence was heinous and refused to let the accused off on a bond of good behaviour. The accused initially apologized but repeated the act, leading to a confrontation and the involvement of the woman's brother. The defence's claim of another passenger's involvement was dismissed by the magistrate.
