Supreme Court: Bihar should make caste survey data break-up public

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 2 January 2024
Supreme Court on Tuesday said Bihar should make the data public to allow people to challenge a particular inference reached by the state and expressed reservation in passing an interim order to restrain the government. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Dutta said the main concern was about the extent to which the breakup of data collected by the government could be put in the public domain so that it did not lead to violation of the right to privacy of citizens.
