'Wrong to hit, but pilot was ...': Eyewitness recounts Indigo assault case

IndiaTimes Monday, 15 January 2024
The co-passenger of an Indigo flyer, Russian Indian actress Evgenia Belskaia, criticised the pilot for "blaming" passengers instead of being "understanding and supportive". She said the pilot accused the passengers of causing delays by arguing and questioning. Belskaia acknowledged that hitting the pilot was wrong but highlighted the passengers' frustration who had been waiting for two hours. Hours after the incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued SOPs to airlines regarding flight cancellations during adverse weather conditions.
