Dharamsot on 4-days police custody; produced in Mohali court

Former Punjab Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was produced in a Mohali court a day after being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED sought a 10-day custodial interrogation, alleging his involvement in an alleged forest scam in the state. The court granted 4 days of custody for further investigation into the accusations. The charges include bribery in the state forest department related to permits for tree felling and transfer/posting, among other allegations.
