Wheat buy may miss target, but set to cross 2023 mark
Sunday, 19 May 2024 () Govt agencies aim to exceed last year's wheat procurement of 262 lakh tonnes, targeting 270 lakh tonnes despite lower estimates. Madhya Pradesh faces a 33% decrease. Punjab and Haryana report higher purchases. Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan show substantial increases but contribute only 18 lakh tonnes to the central pool.
