New 7km road to bring UNESCO Heritage site, Valley of Flowers closer

IndiaTimes Saturday, 27 January 2024
The Centre has granted in-principle approval for the construction of a 7.2km road linking Pulna to Bhyundar village in Chamoli district. The project assumes significance since it will benefit tourists heading to the Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Garhwal Himalayas. Officials said the road, once completed, will shave off around 7km from the trekking route to the valley.
