Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Mizoram's Mamit town on October 30 to campaign for BJP candidates in the upcoming assembly polls. Other prominent BJP leaders, including J P Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nityanand Rai, and Himanta Biswa Sarma, will also join the campaign trail. The BJP has fielded candidates in 23 seats, with a focus on linguistic minority areas. However, the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah is still uncertain. The Mizoram assembly elections will be held on November 7.

Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent.
