Assembly polls underway in Rajasthan, over 40 per cent votes cast till 1 pm
Rajasthan witnesses brisk voting as more than 40% of the electorate cast their votes by 1 pm in the state elections. The polling is peaceful and the voting percentage has been increasing steadily since the morning. The fate of 1,862 candidates in 199 seats will be decided by more than 5.25 crore voters. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements and deployed over 1.70 lakh security personnel. The state elections are a direct contest between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP.
