BJP off the blocks to woo independents, smaller parties in Raj
Friday, 1 December 2023 The BJP brass in Rajasthan is making overtures to smaller entities and independent candidates in preparation for a potential split verdict in the desert state. The list of individuals approached includes rebel candidates Rohitash Sharma, Chandrabhan Singh Akhya, and Ravindra. BJP's election in-charge, Pralhad Joshi, is overseeing the initiative to also rope in Bhartiya Adivasi Party, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, and BSP. BJP is presuming that rebel candidates who didn't directly challenge the party could be the first to fall in line.
In a recent address in Bokaro, Jharkhand, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, stating that 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in the last nine years. Singh contrasted this with the previous promises made by former leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Dr. Manmohan Singh, claiming they failed to eradicate poverty despite their pledges.
