Punjab jails department acts against 2 jail superintendents on mobile selfies by inmates

Punjab ADGP prisons recommended departmental action against two former jail superintendents for inmates circulating self-clicked photos and videos using mobiles on social media. Department has written a letter to initiate proceedings and register FIR against negligent officers and inmates responsible. ADGP also informed about the letter to cyber crime department to remove the content from social media sites. The investigation revealed supervisory lapse of jail officers, recovery of some mobile phones, and lodging of FIRs.
