Supreme Court verdict: 'Brighter future' for J&K, Ladakh following Article 370 abrogation, says EAM Jaishankar
EAM Jaishankar welcomes Supreme Court's verdict upholding Parliament's decision on Article 370, highlighting the positive impact it has had on development, governance, and empowerment in J-K and Ladakh. He assures that the government will continue its efforts for more growth. The Court states that every decision taken by the Centre on behalf of a state cannot be legally challenged, emphasizing that Article 370 is a temporary provision. It directs the Election Commission to hold J-K Assembly elections by September 2024 and orders the restoration of statehood as soon as possible.
