He is a graduate of Moscow State University and an author of multiple publications on socio-political topics in the Russian media.

He often appears as an expert on Russian television and radio.

In the past Asafov had also worked as a political commentator for the radio station “Govorit Moskva” and is a former Chairman of the Expert Council for Social Research and Monitoring of the Mood of Muscovites of the Public Chamber of Moscow.
