Jared Holt says right-wing political content exists in “a parallel media universe” from other news coverage, “and the two lanes don’t touch.” In that parallel universe, some Americans truly believe that Trump “is still the president,” Anne Applebaum says.
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA), who was injured during the Peoples Temple Jonestown Massacre in 1978, says she sees similarities between cult leader Jim Jones and former President Donald Trump in the way they use their charisma to connect with disillusioned American and act as “merchants of deceit.” Speier was shot five times on an airstrip in Guyana while accompanying a lawmaker to investigate the nearby cult.
Anne Applebaum talks about her recent profile of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and his efforts to sow doubt about the 2020 election. While Lindell will fail to get Donald Trump reinstated, ‘what he will help to do is loosen further American’s sense that their democracy works, that their voter system is secure, that the people who observe and monitor their elections are honest,” she says.
Congresswoman Jackie Speier says some, though certainly not all, Trump supporters are “members of a cult.” Speier, a survivor of the Jonestown massacre, talks about the factors that make people vulnerable to cult-like organizations.
This is the world's first fully autonomous street cleaning device. Trombia Free, which was developed by Finnish road maintenance equipment manufacturer Trombia Technologies uses less than 15% of the power needed by current sweeping technologies. This means it cuts over 3 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually. Built to operate in all weather conditions the Trombia Free has the look of an oversized robotic vacuum cleaner or lawnmower. It makes use of LiDAR and machine vision tech to trundle around cleaning up city streets and pathways. The electric street sweeper is equipped with a safety margin zone so is able to register obstacles in front and stop automatically if needed. Since 19th April, the automated Trombia Free has been in action in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki. Trombia Free will roll out through a year-long pilot program in 2021, and mass deliveries are set to begin in early 2022.

Fox News host Sean Hannity encouraged his audience to consult with their doctors about the coronavirus vaccine and even said he believes in vaccine science, despite several hosts on the network consistently pushing vaccine disinformation. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) took issue with reporters asking GOP lawmakers if they were vaccinated, and said reporters should be asking the Democrats if they are vaccinated. A CNN survey found that 100% of Democratic lawmakers on Capitol hill have been vaccinated.
Finland is reporting better than expected success in its COVID vaccination program. A record number of doses has been achieved thanks to a nurse's innovation, which uses specific equipment and the air in vials to squeeze out extra amounts of vaccine.
