He must testify in a special counsel probe that is looking into former President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
Pence's attorneys previously argued that he was protected from having to testify due to the
"speech and debate" clause in the Constitution.
They say that the clause identifies Pence as part of the legislative branch, shielding him from testimony.
The judge disagrees, but did reportedly grant Pence a partial victory in that respect.
Judge Boasberg acknowledged that Pence does have some protections, but the immunity isn't enough to prevent him from testifying.
It remains to be seen
whether Pence will
appeal the decision.

CNN reports that former President Donald Trump has been informed of the investigation.

Informing Trump that he is the subject of special counsel Jack Smith's investigation ...
... implies that Trump is the focus, rather than others in Trump's immediate circle.
Trump's legal team has been on the offensive.
During a meeting on June 5, attorneys for the former president met with DOJ prosecutors and laid out misconduct allegations.
During a June 7 interview, Trump would not state whether he'd been informed of the developments.
He stated that he was not informed of an imminent indictment.
Prosecutors have apparently interviewed dozens of people close to the former president.
Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows recently testified before a grand jury as part of the investigation.
Despite being the subject of Trump's ire, former Vice President Mike Pence recently stated he thinks an indictment would be a mistake.
