A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Jharkhand. The heinous crime happened in Ramgarh Police Station limits of Dumka district. "The body has been sent for post mortem. Investigation is underway," a police official said.
Farmers in Jharkhand's Ranchi are praising the new agriculture laws. According to them, the new reforms will be highly beneficial for farmers. "The bills are good. Farmers praised Central government's new farm bills. Through the bills government are protecting farmers from middlemen," a farmer said to ANI. "We are hopeful that new bills will benefit us. Through the bills middlemen will not be able to steal our profits," another farmer said.
A resident of Kutch district in Gujarat was arrested by Jharkhand Police for allegedly giving rape threats to the daughter of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni on social media. The case was registered at Ratu Police Station in Ranchi. Ranchi SP, Naushad Alam over the arrest said that a team has been sent to Kutch district in Gujarat to bring in the accused to Ranchi. Alam said, "We are sending our team to Kutch district in Gujarat to bring the accused to Ranchi. After interrogation, further action will be taken. Other accused in the case will also be traced and arrested. It is difficult to escape from Ranchi Police."
After RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav promised to provide 10 lakh jobs in the state in the very first cabinet meet, now BJP has launched a counter. The BJP in its manifesto has promised to provide 19 lakh jobs in the state. This comes days after Nitish Kumar recently questioned Tejashwi Yadav over his promise to provide 10 lakh jobs saying how he could possibly raise the money to pay for 10 lakh jobs. Jobs - or the lack of it has emerged as the main electoral issue in the state. Bihar will vote in three phases between 28th October and November. The result will declared on 10th of November.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan at his residence in Delhi. Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary D Raja, BJP MP Pragya Thakur and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar paid their last respect to Ram Vilas Paswan at the latter's residence. President of Republican Party of India (RPI) Ramdas Athawale, MoS Dr Jitendra Singh and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also paid their tribute to Paswan. The mortal remains of Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder leader Ram Vilas Paswan was being taken to his residence from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 09. Paswan passed away at the age of 74 on October 08. He recently underwent heart surgery in Delhi. He has served as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. His son Chirag Paswan broke the news on his twitter account.
