Home Minister Shah on July 12 at tree plantation drive of Central Armed Police Forces in Gurugram praised security forces for their efforts in COVID battle. "India is one of the most populous countries. Everyone thought how will a country like India battle COVID19, there were apprehensions but today the whole world is witnessing how one of the most successful battles against COVID19 has been fought here," said Union Home Minister Amit Shah."In India's battle against COVID19, all of our security forces are playing a huge role, nobody can deny it. Today, I salute these corona warriors. They have proved that they not only know how to fight terrorism but also against COVID with help of people," he further added. Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the 'All India Tree Plantation Campaign' run by the Central Armed Police Forces in Gurugram.

Maharashtra with more than 2.4 lakh cases continues to be the worst affected state by COVID-19 in the country. The state reported 7,827 new cases and 173 deaths in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu, being second worst affected state by the deadly virus, reported 68 deaths and 4244 new COVID-19 positive cases today. On the other hand, the national capital reported 1,573 COVID-19 cases, 2,276 recoveries and 37 deaths on Sunday. Delhi Government informed that 9,443 RTPCR tests and 11,793 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the state today. Total number of tests done so far stands at 789,853.

The CAIT issued a list of 500 items to be boycotted from categories like FMCG products, consumer durables, toys, finished fabrics, textiles, builder hardware, footwear and apparel among others.

If media says we went there for this reason or that, then it's not our problem. We don't want to be part of any controversy. We are the soldiers of Congress and will be with the party till our last breath," Rajasthan Congress MLA Rohit Bohra.
