Ahead of the voting for the post of Speaker post, RJD MLAs created ruckus in Bihar Vidhan Sabha on November 25. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav showed rulebook to pro-tem Speaker Jitan Ram Manjhi. During the ruckus, pro-tem Speaker Manjhi said, "Those who are from other House aren't voting for Speaker election, but no problem in their presence." Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Education Minister Ashok Choudhary were present in the Assembly. The NDA has unanimously declared BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Sinha's name as the candidate while Mahagathbandhan has declared RJD MLA Awadh Bihari Choudhary as its candidate for the Speaker post. Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Vijay Sinha elected as the Speaker of Bihar Assembly. The winter session of the 243-member Bihar Assembly is underway until November 27.
Massive ruckus was witnessed in the Bihar Assembly during the election for the post of Speaker. RJD MLAs led by Tejashwi Yadav objected to the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and minister Ashok Choudhary in the house. The mortal remains of senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel were brought to Sardar Patel Hospital in his hometown of Bharuch in Gujarat on November 25. His last rites will likely be performed on November 26 in his native place. The veteran Congress leader, a confidante of party's interim president Sonia Gandhi, passed away in the wee hours of November 25, his son Faisal Patel confirmed on Twitter. Ahmed Patel had tested positive for coronavirus around a month back, and was undergoing treatment at a Gurugram hospital. The seasoned leader died due to multi-organ failure. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sonia Gandhi, almost every political leader condoled Ahmed Patel's death. PM Modi called him a person with "sharp mind" and someone who "strengthened" the Congress party. Whereas Sonia Gandhi said she has lost an "irreplaceable comrade" in Ahmed Patel.
A textile manufacturer based in Surat said his unit has started making a fabric that can be used in products made for defence personnel such as Army uniforms, bags and bullet proof jackets. Sanjay from the Laxmipati Group said that the fabric which they made has been tested on all international parameters, and they have already received an order for 10 lakh metres of the fabric. The tough clothing material can be used for making Army shoes, jackets, trousers and tents, he added. Sanjay also informed that the type of fabric they have come up with usually gets imported, and their invention will help Prime Minister's call for an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
