Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra questioned in connection with a 'benami' assets case. Speaking on this, he said that "there has been no tax evasion and every question was answered clearly." "23,000 documents were taken away from my office. They have more information about me than I have in my office today. Every question they asked was answered clearly. There is no tax evasion," said Vadra after ED raids and questioning by Income-Tax dept officials.
Congress leader Manish Tewari alleged that the union government has 'politically misused pandemic in its entirety'. Tewari also slammed the Centre over the grant of approval to Bharat Biotech's Covid vaccine. The congress leader, however, did not name the Hyderabad-based company. On Sunday, DCGI approved the Oxford University-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield, and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for restricted emergency use. Many other opposition leaders including Jairam Ramesh, Shashi Tharoor and Akhilesh Yadav have voiced against the approval to Bharat Biotech's vaccine. Amid the political slugfest, Bharat Biotech chairperson and managing director, Krishna Ella, hit out at the critics. The company also asked for a weeks' time to prove its efficacy with evidence.

On the day that the Drug Controller General of India announced the approval of two vaccines for Covid-19, a war of words between the government and the Opposition intensified. Congress leaders also raised questions after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. While Shashi Tharoor said that made-in-India Covaxin's approval was 'premature', Jairam Ramesh said protocols on phase 3 trials were modified for the same. Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav had said that he doesn't trust 'BJP's vaccine'. Union minister Hardeep Puri, and Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra countered the opposition. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh apologised to NSA's son Vivek Doval on December 19. Ramesh's apology comes after Vivek Doval filed defamation case against him. Speaking on this Junior Doval said that he has accepted an apology against Jairam Ramesh but criminal case against Caravan magazine will continue. "Jairam Ramesh has given an apology, and we have accepted it. The criminal defamation case against Caravan magazine will continue," said Vivek Doval, son of NSA Ajit Doval, in Delhi.
While addressing an event in national capital, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on December 28 said, "During UPA govt, Manmohan Singh and Sharad Pawar wanted to bring farm laws but they could not stand pressure and influence. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Scientist Manmohan Singh on November 17 informed that Shimla recorded 4.4 degree Celsius temperature and Manali recorded 1.5 degree Celsius today. "Shimla recorded 4.4 degree Celsius temperature and Manali recorded 1.5 degree Celsius. There has also been a dip of nearly 10 degrees during day time. Higher regions like Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti may receive rainfall in the next few days," said Singh on state weather report.

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said that India shouldn't be made an experiment lab. Singh said that people of India should not be made guinea pigs for vaccine trials. "Protocols can still be compromised during the pandemic. People of India should not be made guinea pigs. Haryana minister Anil Vij got vaccinated and later tested positive. Before human trials, animal trials are done to launch a vaccine. India cannot be an experiment lab for any vaccine," he said. Bharat Biotech, SII, and Pfizer recently asked for emergency use approval in India. At least eight different vaccine candidates are at different trial stages in India. PM Modi had recently held meeting and visited vaccine labs in the country. He had discussed Covid vaccination plan during an all-party meeting held earlier.

Sharma said, "We are expecting dense fog in morning at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. We expect dry weather conditions in North West region and plains. Cold wave conditions would continue at isolated places in East UP." "The minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR would be in the range of 4-5 degrees Celsius and maximum would be around 21-22 degrees Celsius. We are expecting moderate fog in the morning and dry weather conditions in Delhi-NCR," he added.
Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member, Anand Sharma on December 21 submitted the COVID report in the upper house. While speaking to ANI, Anand Sharma informed that India's GDP was adversely affected in first quarter but country did make a comeback in the second. Anand Sharma said, "The first quarter of this year was the worst as GDP was adversely hit. However, we made a comeback in second quarter and we hope that in the remaining two quarters as well, the balance of recovery will be maintained." Further applauding the infrastructure, Sharma said, "India has increased its infrastructure and I congratulate Central and state governments for it as they worked together for it. Politicos expressed condolences over the demise of Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel. "We are saddened by the demise of Ahmed Patel ji and stand with his family in this hour of grief," Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed condolences. Congress' Salman Khurshid also remembered Ahmed Patel. "Ahmed Patel's demise is a big shock for us. He was a strong pillar of the Congress party. He was a skilled party in-charge. In a true sense, he was Congress' crisis manager," said Congress' Anand Sharma. Ahmed Patel, who was undergoing treatment at a Gurugram hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, breathed his last after multi-organ failure.
