Tributes paid to martyrs on 12th anniversary of 26/11 attack
Thursday, 26 November 2020 Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, state home minister Anil Deshmukh and environment minister Aaditya Thackeray paid their respects at the newly-built memorial at the police headquarters in south Mumbai. Remebering their personnel killed in the attack, the Maharashtra Police in a tweet said, "A tribute to the ones who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the rest!"

At least four died, some others injured after fire broke out in a Covid hospital in Nagpur. Officials said incident occurred at 8.10 pm on Friday at the hospital located in Wadi area. Around 27 patients were reportedly shifted to other hospitals following the blaze. Four fire tenders were rushed to spot, it took about an hour to bring fire under control. “This is a 30-bed Covid hospital out of which 15 were ICU beds. Patients have been evacuated and shifted to different hospitals,” a police official said. Meanwhile, CM Uddhav Thackeray has ordered an inquiry into the fire incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed grief over the Nagpur hospital fire.

Union health minister Harsh Vardhan hit out at state governments seeking widening of the Covid-19 vaccine net amid a surge in infections. He accused governments of states like Maharashtra and Delhi of playing politics, instead of administering vaccines comprehensively among people currently eligible. He also dismissed claims of vaccine shortage by Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar. A delegation of BJP leaders led by Devendra Fadnavis met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan and handed over their memorandum on March 24. They requested the Governor to ask for a report from Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on various issues related to governance and COVID-19. Devendra Fadnavis said, "After so many incidents, Maharashtra Chief Minister is silence, Sharad Pawar held two press conferences, he just tried to protect the minister. This government has lost moral ground." He further said, "This Government is not bothered about the COVID-19 situation in the state. The way in which cases are increasing here, it has become the epicentre. I don't understand what has this government done to control it? It is time to act and not give lectures."

At least 150 commandos of NSG received Covid-19 vaccine dose on March 11. Commandos of national security guard received their second dose. The dose was administered at the jumbo facility in Bandra Kurla complex. This comes as second phase of vaccination is underway in the country. At least 4.7 lakh people in Mumbai have received Covid-19 vaccine. Immunisation drive in India began on January 16 this year. The bench in its order stated, "Nature of allegations and personas involved needs an enquiry by an independent agency. It is a matter of public confidence.
