Bhopal district administration on May 09 announced that COVID-19 induced curfew in the state capital will be extended till May 17. In wake of COVID-19 infection surge, curfew was imposed on April 12 and was extended subsequently after every 1 week. Essential services and emergency travel are exempted from movement restrictions.
Petrol and diesel prices witnessed a minor surge in the national capital and stood at Rs 90.74 and Rs 81.12 per litre, respectively on Wednesday. The petrol prices were increased by 19 paise per litre and diesel by 21 paise in Delhi. Rates have been increased across the country and differ from state to state depending on the incidence of value-added tax. In Mumbai, the price of petrol and diesel stood at Rs 97.12 and Rs 88.19 per litre respectively. The price of petrol and diesel in Chennai was Rs 92.70 and Rs 86.09 per litre respectively and Rs 90.92 and Rs 83.98 per litre in Kolkata. Meanwhile, Congress slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rise in the prices of petrol and diesel."Elections are over, Modi ji has shown taken off his mask, petrol-diesel prices started increasing; Modi ji, now it has been proved that you decide the price of petrol and diesel, not oil companies," tweeted Madhya Pradesh Congress in Hindi. They also shared a newspaper clipping whose headline reads "Petrol and diesel prices increased as soon as elections are over. Petrol in Bhopal up by 24 and diesel by 22 paise".
Oxygen tankers were loaded in Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft in Thailand's Bangkok. IAF to airlift the cryogenic oxygen tankers to Panagarh Airbase in West Bengal. Earlier, IAF airlifted three oxygen tankers from Singapore and six from Dubai to Panagarh. Several countries have come forward to help India amid increasing Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, IAF aircraft are already ferrying oxygen containers within the country. An IAF plane carried two more empty oxygen tankers from Indore to Jamnagar in Gujarat. Tankers, loaded with oxygen, are scheduled to travel from Jamnagar to Indore by road. India recorded over 3.7 lakh fresh Covid-19 cases and 3,645 deaths in the last 24 hours.

An Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft on April 29 carried two more empty oxygen tankers from Indore to Jamnagar in Gujarat. Tankers, loaded with medical oxygen are scheduled to travel from Jamnagar to Indore by road. Tankers cannot be transported by IAF aircraft as the gas is considered flammable and may pose a threat.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is continuing to aid Covid efforts by transporting oxygen tankers. The Indian Air Force's C17 planes were seen being loaded at Indore on April 27.The IAF craft carried two empty oxygen tankers to Jamnagar for refill. The refilled tankers are reportedly slated to return to Indore by road. IAF said it's shuttling oxygen tankers from at least seven cities. The air force is carrying cryogenic oxygen containers to Jamnagar, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. Indian air force is also airlifting oxygen tankers from Singapore and Dubai. Watch the full video for more.
