Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray tests Covid positive
Saturday, 20 March 2021 Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday said that he has tested positive for Covid-19.Aadtiya, the son of Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, said that he had mild symptoms of Covid and requested everyone who came in contact with him to get themselves tested.

At least 150 commandos of NSG received Covid-19 vaccine dose on March 11. Commandos of national security guard received their second dose. The dose was administered at the jumbo facility in Bandra Kurla complex. This comes as second phase of vaccination is underway in the country. At least 4.7 lakh people in Mumbai have received Covid-19 vaccine. Immunisation drive in India began on January 16 this year. Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray got his vaccine dose. Thackeray got the first vaccine dose at a hospital in Mumbai. A crowd in Sangamner of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra was seen attacking and chasing a State Reserve Police Force personnel who had gone to disperse the huge assembly of people. An FIR was registered against several people, including 5 named accused. The accused are currently absconding.
24 states including Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have more than 15% positivity rate for COVID-19 in their daily infections, informed Union Health Ministry. "Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Haryana and Bihar have a high caseload," said Arti Ahuja, Additional Secretary (Health) while addressing a press conference in Delhi.
India has hit a record daily high with over 4 lakh new covid cases in the last 24 hours. The country has seen the passing of many imminent personalities in the last 2 days. In a conversation with the Indian Express, the chief medical advisor to the US Biden Administration, Anthony Fauci stressed that India should be put under complete lockdown to control the tsunami of covid cases. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray reckoned that the state might not reach that stage.

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on April 28 said the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, has approved around Rs 6,500 crore to provide free vaccination for people between 18-44 years in the state. Tope explained that the state has nearly 5.71 crore people in the above mentioned age group and thus the state would require 12 crore doses for their vaccination. The third phase of vaccination, covering people aged 18-44 years, will start from May 01 even as several states have expressed concerns over availability of vaccines.
In a first, a drive-in vaccination facility was set up at Mumbai's BMC centre in Dadar. The Kohinoor public parking of the centre was converted into a vaccination centre, wherein people can sit in their cars and get inoculated. Shiv Sena leader Rahul Shewale said, "Similar facilities will be set up at other multipurpose parking sites by BMC." Inspired by drive-in COVID testing, this facility is far more convenient for people as there is no fear of maintaining social distancing.
